Happy New Year!
2018 certainly started off with excitement as Issa announced he was not running for office. Many of us celebrated this news however, this does not mean that it has become easier to Flip the 49th. We face the risk of possibly not having a Democratic candidate listed for the California primary due to the splitting the votes among the four candidates for District 49.
Our next meeting is this Thursday, Jan. 25th, 2018 – starts at 6 pm at the Del Mar Branch Library. RSVP Please.
Our e-board has made the decision to postpone our club’s endorsement vote for the Congressional District 49th race.
Instead, we will have an informal vote, from our members in good standing, for the pre-endorsement conference held January 27th where Stacie Devitt will represent our club with our vote.
We will formally endorse a candidate for the Congressional District 49th race at a later date.
Members in good standing will be provided a vote (this means membership dues were paid by Dec 25, 2017). If you’re interested in voting for the official endorsement in the future, you still have time to become a member. The membership forms are available on our Membership page.
For our meeting this Thursday, Jan. 25th, 6pm at the Del Mar Branch Library, we will have all the candidates for Congressional District 49 represented (except Supriya Christopher). We have allocated Christina Prejean additional time since the other 4 candidates (Paul Kerr, Doug Applegate, Sara Jacobs & Mike Levin) spoke to our members & answered questions at our fireside chats this past October and November.

We had a great 2017 with many interesting speakers and candidates at our meetings. We hope you enjoyed this last year and we’re looking forward to making a difference in 2018.
We started our club in March 2017 and we currently have 33 members in good standing.
Membership Drive
Our members in good standing our important to our club. The dues help pay for the costs to hold meetings, pay for our San Diego County Democrats club fees and pay for our website. Also members in good standing have a vote with endorsements and club business. Thanks for your support!
