Torrey Pines Democratic Club

Membership

Dear Members and Friends of the Torrey Pines Democratic Club,

As we enter 2026 with an unhinged President, it is more important than ever to engage politically at every level of government. The mid-term elections will be here before we know it. The Torrey Pines Democratic Club is the place you can join with your neighbors and stay involved to help us support and strengthen our local Democratic leaders. This is where we discuss these topics and welcome your input, where we hear expert speakers, where we hear out candidates for federal, state, and local offices seeking to serve our region, and where our input matters. We hope you will renew your membership and please, encourage your democratic friends to join us. There are several categories of membership as outlined below. Accomplishments for 2025
  • The Club compiled a large list of direct negative local impacts from the Trump Administration actions, and provided it to Mike Levin and Scott Peters in March.
  • A Club meeting was held to discuss lessons from the November, 2024 election.
  • The Club hosted immigration lawyer Nora Miner who discussed urgent issues facing immigrants
  • The Club financially supported Deborah Lyons immigrant-rights information distribution.
  • A Club meeting focused on local political issues and what resistance actions can be taken.
  • We heard from SDUHSD Trustee Jane Lea Smith who gave us an update on high school district issues.
  • Misty O’Healy updated the Club on Indivisible 49 activities and where members can help.
  • A Club meeting provided an in depth discussion on Proposition 50.
  • The Club provided a platform throughout the year for direct interaction between our members and elected officials and candidates.
  • We enjoyed a picnic social in September.
